Leo Laurie Indich's story

I started searching for our family history a long time ago. I first went to New Norcia's records and was provided with some names. I followed the trail of names and encountered Jan “Kabarli” James' book Forever Warriors. That’s where I met my great grand uncle Leo Laurie Indich.

I didn’t know of him, neither did my brother Mick. The records from the Australian National Archives indicated that my great grand uncle was born in 1914 in Guildford. He joined the Australian Army 16th Volunteer Defence Battalion in 1941, and was transferred to the AIF 16th Australian Infantry Battalion.
